Fractional T1 is a variant of T1. Fractional T1 shares all the characteristics of T1, with one exception, its transmission capacity, or otherwise, its bandwidth. While a T1 has a usable capacity of 1.536 Mbps, a Fractional T1 has the capacity of a fraction of a T1 circuit. For example, a Fractional T1 can have a capacity of 384 Kbps (the equivalent of one-quarter of a T1 line) or 768 Kbps (one-half of a T1 line).
